Americans consume nearly 225 lbs. of fruit per person every year, much of which has been stored and distributed through the cold chain. Logistics plays an important role keeping these products as fresh as possible.

The Michigan agricultural industry contributes $101.2 billion each year to the state’s economy. As the number one producer of blueberries and cherries in the country, Michigan farms know firsthand how vital it is to safely preserve the crops that are distributed across the country.

As a company that was born and raised in the fields of Michigan, Hanson Logistics is excited to expand our network of facilities in Southwest Michigan yet again with the new South Haven Logistics Center.

This centrally located facility will enable Hanson Logistics to quick-freeze fresh blueberries and cherries while simultaneously supporting surrounding farms and food manufacturers with best-of-class agricultural-centric storage and distribution.

The South Haven Logistics Center complex will become the company’s ninth deep frozen warehouse (the sixth in Michigan). Currently, the total warehouse capacity of Hanson Logistics facilities in Michigan is 21,090,432 cubic feet—the May 2017 completion of Phase One will provide 150,000 sq. ft. with a capacity for 30,000,000 lbs. of product.

As our company grows, we will continue our top priority of supporting Michigan agriculture.
