Hanson Logistics is the evolution of Hanson Cold Storage, founded in 1954 to support the fruit and vegetable grower community. Hanson Cold Storage grew to become the 13th largest refrigerated warehouse network in the country, with 9 facilities in Michigan and Indiana and a total capacity of 37,000,000 cu. ft. of deep frozen, refrigerated and dry warehousing space.

Known for “Yes, We Can!” service, the company entered the 3PL market in 2004, deepening its management team with seasoned logistics professionals and adding extensive transportation services. Today, Hanson Logistics offers the security of company-owned trucks, facilities and technology with the flexibility of non-asset services when structuring supply chain solutions for a growing number of food processors, distributors and retailers.

In early 2006, Hanson launched Velocities™, a multi-vendor consolidation program, supported by the Hanson truck fleet, serving the greater central states area. To meet the growing demand for consolidation and scheduled delivery, the company built the 14,500,000 cu ft. Chicago Consolidation Center, located in Hobart, Indiana.
